3-Ingredient Cherry Dump Cake
This 3-ingredient cherry dump cake is one of the easiest desserts, made with cherry pie filling, a box of yellow cake mix, and unsalted butter.

Preheat

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Pie filling
- Step 2
Pour both cans of cherry pie filling into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly across the bottom.
Cake mix
- Step 3
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherry pie filling. Gently smooth the surface with clean, dry hands or the back of a spatula without pressing down too hard.
Butter slices
- Step 4
If slicing the butter: Evenly distribute the thin butter slices over the top of the cake mix. If melting the butter: Slowly pour the melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix. Do not mix.
Bake
- Step 5
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling actively around the edges and the top is deep golden-brown and crisp. Cool for at least 10 minutes, then serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream.
