Instructions
1
In a medium mixing bowl, add acorn squash pieces and spray with roughly 1 tablespoon of spray oil, or until most of the squash is coated in a light layer of oil. Add sweet OR savory seasoning ingredients. Use tongs to mix until all the squash pieces are evenly coated in oil and spices.
2
Add the acorn squash pieces to the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 375F and air fry the acorn squash pieces for 15-20 minutes, flipping and rotating the squash halfway through cooking. Squash is done with the pieces are fork tender and the edges are just starting to brown.
3
Serve as a side with dinner! Recipe suggestions above. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cut Evenly for Perfect Doneness ✂️Slice your acorn squash into uniform 1/2-inch thick half-moons or rings to ensure all pieces cook at the same rate and become fork-tender simultaneously.
- Pat Dry Before Air Frying 💧Pat the cut squash completely dry with paper towels after washing to prevent excess moisture, which allows the spray oil to adhere better and creates superior caramelization.
- Preheat Your Air Fryer 🔥Always preheat your air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 400°F before cooking to jumpstart the cooking process and achieve even browning and fork-tender texture in just 12-15 minutes.
- Layer Your Seasonings Strategically 🧂For sweet preparations, apply honey after cooking rather than before to prevent burning; for savory, mix spices into the spray oil first to distribute them evenly across every piece.
- Check Doneness with a Fork Test 🍴Pierce the flesh of the squash with a fork at the thickest point—it should glide through easily without resistance; if it's still firm, add 2-3 more minutes rather than relying on time alone.
