Tips & Tricks (5)
- Soak and Dry Potatoes 💧Soak cut russet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then pat completely dry before air frying for maximum crispiness and golden color.
- Caramelize Onions Separately 🧅Cook diced white onions in butter in a skillet over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until deeply browned and sweet before topping fries, ensuring perfect flavor and texture.
- Layer Toppings Strategically 🧀Add melted American cheese to hot fries first while they retain heat, then drizzle Thousand Island dressing and top with caramelized onions to prevent soggy bottoms.
- Shake and Season Evenly 🎲Toss fries in a bowl with seasoning blend and cooking spray before air frying to ensure even coating, then season again immediately after cooking while still hot for better adhesion.
- Optimal Air Fryer Temperature 🌡️Cook fries at 400°F for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, to achieve the signature crispy exterior while maintaining a fluffy interior like the In-N-Out original.
