Instructions
1
|
Pre-heat your air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
2
|
Prep the asparagus by trimming off the hard white ends. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle on the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
3
|
Lay the asparagus flat in your air fryer, being careful not to stack it as best possible (if a few pieces are overlapping, that’s okay).
4
|
Air fry for 5 minutes and then sprinkle on the parmesan cheese (if using) and then air fry for 2-4 additional minutes. Cook time will depend on the thickness of your asparagus. Thinner pieces will likely only need 2 more minutes while thicker pieces will require 4 additional minutes.

|
Sprinkle with ¼ cup of parmesan cheese if desired and ENJOY!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Asparagus Thoroughly 💧Pat asparagus completely dry with paper towels before tossing with oil—moisture prevents crisping and causes steaming instead of the desired caramelization.
- Trim Woody Ends Properly ✂️Bend each asparagus spear until it naturally snaps at the tender point rather than cutting with a knife—this removes only the tough, woody portion and maximizes usable length.
- Single Layer for Maximum Crispness 📐Arrange asparagus in a single layer without overlapping in your air fryer basket, and shake or flip halfway through cooking for even browning on all sides.
- Oil Coating Technique 🫒Lightly coat asparagus with olive oil using your hands or a mister rather than drizzling, ensuring every spear is evenly covered for consistent flavor and texture development.
- Season After Cooking 🧄Add garlic powder and freshly cracked black pepper in the final minute or immediately after air frying to preserve the garlic's delicate flavor and prevent it from burning.
