Instructions

|
Dry the wings very well with paper towels. You want them to be as dry as possible! Then, place the wings in a large bowl. Add the baking powder and BBQ rub. Toss until the wings are well coated. Set aside.
2
|
Grease the basket of an air fryer with neutral oil or cooking spray. Then, place the wings skin-side up in a single layer in the air fryer basket. It's ok if they're touching a little on the edges, they will shrink as they cook!
3
|
Fry the wings at 390°F (200°C) for 10 minutes. Then, flip the wings and fry them for 6-8 more minutes until they're crispy on the outside and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part.

|
Toss the wings with the BBQ sauce until they are nice and saucy. Then, air fry them for another minute per side, until they are sticky and lightly charred in some spots. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Wings Dry for Crispy Skin ✨Remove excess moisture from wings with paper towels before applying the BBQ rub—this ensures maximum crispiness in the air fryer and better sauce adhesion.
- Layer Your Rub and Sauce 🎯Apply the aluminum-free baking powder rub first to create a crispy base, then add BBQ sauce in the final 3-5 minutes to prevent burning while developing a sticky glaze.
- Don't Overcrowd the Basket 🍗Arrange wings in a single layer with space between each piece to allow hot air circulation—cook in batches if needed for perfectly crispy results instead of steamed wings.
- Shake Halfway Through 🔄Gently shake or flip the wings halfway through cooking to ensure even browning and crisping on all sides without damaging the delicate skin.
- Oil Application Technique 🫒Lightly coat wings with neutral oil using a spray bottle rather than tossing—this promotes even cooking, prevents sticking, and helps the rub adhere properly throughout the air-frying process.
