Tips & Tricks (5)
- Freeze Before Frying 🧊Freeze the breaded cheese bites for at least 2 hours (or overnight) before air frying to prevent the cheese from leaking out and ensure a perfectly crispy exterior with melty interior.
- Triple Coat for Maximum Crunch 🥖Use the flour-egg-breadcrumb coating method twice for an extra-thick, supremely crispy shell that won't break apart when bitten into.
- Optimal Air Fryer Temperature 🌡️Set your air fryer to 350°F and cook for just 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through—this lower temperature prevents burning while giving the cheese time to melt without exploding out.
- Pat Dry Your Cheese Sticks 💧Remove any excess moisture from the mozzarella sticks with paper towels before breading, as even small amounts of water will create steam and cause the coating to separate during cooking.
- Warm Your Marinara Sauce Separately 🔥Heat your marinara sauce in a small saucepan while the bites cook, so you can serve them immediately with warm dipping sauce for the best flavor and texture contrast.
