Instructions
1
Lay your pie crusts out flat on a lightly floured surface. With your cookie cutter, cut out as many hearts as you can with the amount of pie crust you have.
2
On one of the heart-shaped crusts, add 1 tablespoon of your jelly preserves in the middle of the crust. Spread it out evenly, making sure to leave room around the edges.
3
Dip your finger in the egg wash, and evenly spread the egg wash around the edges of the crust surrounding the jelly.
4
Place another heart shaped pie crust on top of the heart with the jelly on it. Using a fork, press down the edges to create a seal.
5
Using a kitchen brush, dip it in the egg wash and brush the rest of your heart shape with the egg wash.
6
Poke 6-8 holes in the top crust using a fork or toothpick.
7
Depending on the size of your air fryer, place as many pastry hearts in your air fryer that will fit without interfering with the shape of the pastry.
8
Cook your pop tarts at 370℉ for 7 minutes. Once the timer is done, open your air fryer, and flip your pop tarts. Continue to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until it is reached a soft brown color.
9
Remove from the air fryer, and transfer to a cooling rack.
10
While your pastries are cooling, mix together your icing. Whisk together powdered sugar and 1 ounce of jelly. You can choose to add more powdered sugar if you like your frosting thicker.
11
Drizzle your frosting over your pop tart. While the frosting is still wet, add your sprinkles.
12
Allow them to cool and the frosting to harden, and then enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Seal the Edges Perfectly 🔐Use a fork to crimp and seal the pie crust edges firmly, pressing down with consistent pressure to prevent the strawberry preserve from leaking during air frying.
- Chill Before Cooking ❄️Refrigerate your assembled pop tarts for at least 15 minutes before air frying to help the crust hold its shape and prevent the filling from bursting out.
- Egg Wash for Golden Finish 🥚Brush a thin layer of beaten egg on top of each pop tart before cooking to achieve a beautiful golden-brown exterior and help the Valentine sprinkles adhere properly.
- Optimal Air Fryer Temperature 🌡️Cook at 375°F for exactly 8-10 minutes, checking halfway through and shaking the basket gently to ensure even browning on both sides without burning the sprinkles.
- Strategic Powdered Sugar Application ✨Dust powdered sugar on the pop tarts immediately after they cool for 2-3 minutes while still slightly warm, allowing it to set and stick better than applying it to completely cooled pastries.
