Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Peppers Thoroughly 💧Pat jalapenos completely dry with paper towels before stuffing to ensure the cheese filling stays creamy and prevents excess moisture from making them soggy during air frying.
- Pre-Mix Your Cheese Filling 🧀Blend softened cream cheese with shredded cheddar at room temperature for 2-3 minutes until fully combined, creating a smooth, pipeable filling that distributes evenly into each pepper.
- Freeze Before Air Frying ❄️Refrigerate stuffed poppers for at least 30 minutes (or freeze up to 2 hours) so the cheese filling holds its shape during cooking and creates a perfectly creamy center without leaking.
- Use Real Bacon and Crisp It First 🥓Cook fresh bacon until slightly underdone, crumble it, and add after air frying rather than using pre-made bits, which allows you to control the bacon's texture and ensure it stays crispy.
- Arrange Peppers Cut-Side Up 📍Position stuffed jalapenos with the opening facing upward in a single layer and avoid overcrowding the basket so hot air circulates evenly, ensuring golden cheese and optimal browning.
