Instructions
1
|
Start by slicing any hard, semi-hard, or semi-soft cheeses into cubes, wedges, or slices. Arrange the sliced and whole cheeses in different areas of the board for easy serving.
2
|
Next, add bowls of ingredients like cornichons, jams, mustard, etc. next to the cheeses. Then, add grapes, sliced apples, or other seasonal fruit you like. Place piles of smaller items like dried apricots, walnuts, and almonds in-between the cheeses, bowls, & fruit.
3
|
Fill in any gaps of the board with olives or other smaller items. Stick sprigs of rosemary or thyme in small gaps for garnish.
4
|
If you're using cured meats, slice the meats and place them on a separate board or plate. Arrange crackers or bread on a separate board or plate as well. Serve the cheese board with French wine and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Temperature Matters for Cheese 🧀Remove all cheeses from the refrigerator 30-45 minutes before serving to allow them to reach room temperature, which unlocks their full flavor complexity and creamy texture.
- Strategic Fruit Cutting Timing ✂️Cut apples just before serving and toss lightly with lemon juice to prevent oxidation while maintaining that fresh, crisp appearance that makes the board visually stunning.
- Arrange by Flavor Progression 🎯Position mild cheeses on one side and intensely flavored ones on the other, allowing guests to progress from delicate to bold flavors and properly cleanse their palates between tastings.
- Toast Your Nuts for Depth 🔆Lightly toast almonds and walnuts in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before adding to the board to amplify their natural oils and create a richer, more complex flavor profile.
- Pair Condiments Strategically 🎨Place fig jam with creamier cheeses and Dijon mustard with aged varieties to create complementary flavor combinations that enhance each cheese's unique characteristics.
