Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×13 pan with cooking spray or neutral oil. Set aside.
2
|
Using a sharp bread knife, slice the rolls in half horizontally, keeping the bottoms and tops of the rolls intact. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared pan and spread them with mayonnaise.
3
|
Evenly layer half of the ham over the bottom rolls followed by half of the cheese. Add another layer of ham and cheese so you have two total layers. Place the top rolls over the ham and cheese.
4
|
Next, whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds until smooth. Using a pastry brush, brush the mixture on top of the rolls, getting into all the nooks and crannies. Pour any remaining sauce over the top of the sliders.
5
|
Cover the pan tightly with tin foil. Bake the sliders for 20 minutes. Then, uncover and bake the sliders for another 5-10 minutes, until the ham and cheese is heated through and the tops of the rolls are golden-brown.
6
|
Garnish the sliders with fresh chives. Slice and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast the Rolls First 🥐Lightly butter and toast the Hawaiian rolls cut-side up for 2-3 minutes before assembly to prevent them from becoming soggy and add a subtle golden flavor that complements the sweet glaze.
- Balance Your Brown Sugar Glaze 🍯Mix your glaze ingredients in advance and taste for seasoning—the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce should subtly cut through the sweetness of the brown sugar for a sophisticated, not cloying flavor.
- Layer Your Cheese Strategically 🧀Place white cheddar cheese on top of the ham before adding the glaze so it melts into the filling, creating a creamy texture that binds all ingredients together rather than sitting on the surface.
- Chill Before Baking 🧊Assemble sliders 30 minutes to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate covered—this allows flavors to meld and helps the glaze adhere better during baking while preventing the rolls from drying out.
- Cover with Foil Strategically 🫁Bake covered with foil for the first 10-12 minutes, then remove to allow the glaze to caramelize and brown slightly, creating an irresistible sticky-sweet exterior while keeping interiors moist.
