Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×13 pan with cooking spray or neutral oil. Set aside.
2
|
Using a sharp bread knife, slice the rolls in half horizontally, keeping the bottoms and tops of the rolls intact. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared pan and spread them with mayonnaise.
3
|
Evenly layer half of the ham over the bottom rolls followed by half of the cheese. Add another layer of ham and cheese so you have two total layers. Place the top rolls over the ham and cheese.
4
|
Next, whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds until smooth. Using a pastry brush, brush the mixture on top of the rolls, getting into all the nooks and crannies. Pour any remaining sauce over the top of the sliders.
5
|
Cover the pan tightly with tin foil. Bake the sliders for 20 minutes. Then, uncover and bake the sliders for another 5-10 minutes, until the ham and cheese is heated through and the tops of the rolls are golden-brown.
6
|
Garnish the sliders with fresh chives. Slice and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Butter the Rolls First 🧈Split and lightly butter the cut sides of Hawaiian rolls before assembling to prevent sogginess and create a golden, toasted exterior when baked.
- Don't Skip the Glaze Brush 🖌️Reserve half the brown sugar glaze to brush on the sliders halfway through baking and again at the end for a caramelized, glossy finish that locks in flavor.
- Layer Cheese Strategically 🧀Place white cheddar cheese on both the bottom and top roll halves before baking so it melts into the ham and creates a creamy binding layer throughout.
- Chill Before Baking ❄️Assemble the sliders and refrigerate for 30 minutes before baking to help them hold together better and allow flavors to meld for a more cohesive taste.
- Tent with Foil for Even Baking 🎪Cover sliders loosely with foil for the first 10 minutes of baking, then remove to allow the tops to brown without the glaze burning.
