Tips & Tricks (5)
- Chill Your Bowl and Lettuce 🧊Refrigerate your mixing bowl and romaine lettuce for at least 30 minutes before assembling to keep the salad crisp and the dressing from wilting the greens.
- Make Dressing Emulsion Perfect ✨Whisk the anchovy paste, garlic, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce together first before slowly drizzling in olive oil while whisking constantly to create a silky, stable emulsion.
- Toast Croutons in Seasoned Oil 🥖Cut sourdough into cubes and toss with extra virgin olive oil and all-purpose seasoning before toasting at 375°F for 8-10 minutes to maximize flavor and prevent soggy bread.
- Use Fresh Garlic and Lemon Juice 🍋Mince fresh garlic immediately before mixing and squeeze lemon juice fresh (never use bottled) as these ingredients oxidize quickly and lose their bright, pungent qualities.
- Dress at the Last Moment 🥗Toss the salad with dressing just before serving and add shaved Parmesan cheese last to prevent the lettuce from becoming limp and to showcase the cheese's delicate texture.
