Instructions

1
|
In a medium size bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
2
|
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter and sugars together until light & fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
3
|
Add the egg and vanilla and beat until fully incorporated.
4
|
Scrape down the bowl, then add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not over-mix!
5
|
Gently fold in the sprinkles.
6
|
Using a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop, portion the cookie dough and place on one baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the cookie dough for 30 minutes.
7
|
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
8
|
Place the frozen cookie dough on one prepared baking sheet placed about two inches apart.
9
|
Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet, and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Room Temperature Ingredients 🌡️
Bring butter and eggs to room temperature before mixing to create a smooth, emulsified dough that yields softer, more uniform cookies with better rise.
  • Sprinkle Timing Strategy 🌈
Add sprinkles to the dough just before baking rather than pressing them into the surface, so they stay vibrant and embedded throughout instead of melting and bleeding color.
  • Chill Dough Before Baking ❄️
Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent excessive spreading and achieve thicker, chewier cookies with well-defined edges.
  • Balance Your Leavening Agents ⚖️
Use both baking powder and baking soda in the correct ratio—the soda reacts with acidic ingredients while powder provides additional lift for that signature soft, cake-like texture.
  • Underbake for Optimal Texture 🍪
Remove cookies when edges are set but centers still look slightly underdone—they'll continue cooking on the warm baking sheet and finish with a perfect soft, chewy interior.
