Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Fold in Blackberries Last 🫐
Add fresh blackberries to the batter just before cooking to prevent them from breaking down and staining the waffle; this keeps them intact and juicy inside.
  • Preheat Your Waffle Iron Properly 🔥
Allow your waffle iron to fully preheat for 3-5 minutes and lightly oil between batches to ensure a crispy golden exterior while maintaining a fluffy interior.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter 🥣
Mix ingredients until just combined—overmixing develops gluten and creates dense, tough waffles instead of the light, tender texture Bisquick batters are known for.
  • Use Coconut Oil at Room Temperature 🥥
Let coconut oil soften slightly before incorporating it into the batter so it distributes evenly and doesn't create greasy pockets or uneven browning.
  • Keep Finished Waffles Warm Properly 🍽️
Place finished waffles on a wire rack in a 200°F oven rather than stacking them—this prevents steam from making them soggy while you finish cooking remaining batches.
