Tips & Tricks (5)
- Banana Ripeness is Crucial 🍌Use bananas with brown spots and soft flesh for maximum sweetness and moisture; overripe bananas (almost black) provide the best flavor and natural binding without excess eggs.
- Brown Sugar Creates Superior Moisture 🟤Replace some white sugar with brown sugar to add molasses content, which enhances moisture retention and creates a tender, cake-like crumb that stays fresh longer.
- Toast Your Chocolate Chips 🍫Lightly warm chocolate chips in the oven for 2-3 minutes before folding into batter to intensify their flavor and prevent them from sinking to the bottom during baking.
- Don't Overmix Your Batter ✋Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined with some flour streaks visible; overmixing activates gluten and creates a dense, tough crumb instead of the desired fluffy texture.
- Add Sprinkles Mid-Bake ❤️Sprinkle hearts on top after 15 minutes of baking rather than before; this prevents them from sinking while ensuring they stay vibrant and on the surface for visual appeal.
