Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Your Oats First 🔥Lightly toast the old-fashioned oats in a dry skillet for 3-4 minutes before mixing to enhance their nutty flavor and add deeper complexity to your granola bars.
- Bind with Honey Precisely 🍯Warm your honey slightly and mix it thoroughly with oil and brown sugar to create an even binder that prevents dry, crumbly bars and ensures perfect texture throughout.
- Chill Before Cutting ❄️Refrigerate your baked granola bars for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares—this prevents crumbling and gives you clean, professional-looking bars with better structural integrity.
- Toast Coconut Separately 🥥Dry-toast unsweetened coconut for 2-3 minutes in a separate skillet before adding to the mixture to intensify its flavor and prevent moisture that could soften the bars.
- Distribute Chocolate Evenly 🍫Reserve half your chocolate chips to sprinkle on top of the batter before baking, ensuring every bite contains chocolate rather than having all chips sink to the bottom.
