Instructions
1
|
Thoroughly wash and dry the apples. With the apples standing upright, cut into 1/2" slices.
2
|
Carefully stick popsicle sticks into one side of the apple slice. The apples can split in half, so do this delicately.
3
|
Microwave chocolate chips and coconut oil in microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals until smooth.
4
|
Dip each apple slice in chocolate, using a spoon to coat the entire slice. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
5
|
Top with any desired toppings like sprinkles, nuts, etc and freeze or refrigerate until solid.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Prep Apples with Acid 🍎Toss apple slices in lemon or lime juice immediately after cutting to prevent browning and add a subtle flavor contrast to the sweet chocolate coating.
- Temper Chocolate Properly 🍫Melt chocolate with coconut oil at low heat (around 110°F) and stir constantly to achieve a smooth, glossy finish that sets evenly without streaks or bloom.
- Chill Before Decorating ❄️Dip apples in chocolate and place on parchment for 2-3 minutes to set slightly, then add toppings while the coating is still tacky so decorations adhere properly.
- Create a Topping Station 🎨Arrange all toppings in shallow bowls at arm's length and roll each chocolate-coated apple immediately after dipping for maximum topping coverage and adhesion.
- Secure Sticks Strategically 🎯Insert popsicle sticks at a slight angle through the apple core rather than straight down to create better balance and prevent sticks from spinning during dipping.
