When ready to bake the cookies, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Using a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop the cookie dough and roll in the powdered sugar.

Place cookie dough on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Chill Dough Before Rolling 🧊
Refrigerate your dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling in powdered sugar to prevent sticking and ensure the signature crinkled texture forms properly during baking.
  • Bloom Cocoa Powder First 🍫
Whisk your cocoa powder with a small amount of hot water before adding to the dry ingredients to intensify chocolate flavor and eliminate bitter undertones.
  • Balance Peppermint Intensity 🌿
Start with ½ teaspoon peppermint extract and taste-test the dough before adding more, as extract potency varies by brand and can easily overpower the chocolate base.
  • Underbake for Fudgy Centers 🕐
Remove cookies when the edges are set but centers still jiggle slightly (about 11-12 minutes) - they continue cooking on the hot baking sheet for that ultra-fudgy brownie texture.
  • Use Quality Vanilla Paste 💎
Vanilla paste delivers superior flavor and helps bind ingredients better than extract, creating a more cohesive dough and richer overall taste profile in your crinkle cookies.
