Crockpot Italian Beef Sliders
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2
Place the chuck roast in the bowl of your slow cooker and add the beef broth.
3
Season with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
4
Set aside 2 Tablespoons of the butter, then cut the remaining stick into thin slices. Place the slices on top of the beef.
5
Top with ⅔ of the banana peppers plus half the juice from the banana pepper jar. Set the remaining banana peppers aside.
6
Place the lid on the slow cooker and set to cook on low for 6 hours or high for four hours.
7
When the meat is finished cooking, remove it from the pot and shred it.
8
Cut the entire package of rolls in half and remove the top half of the bread. Place the bottom half on the prepared baking tray, and spread the meat in an even layer over the bottom half of the rolls.
9
Top the shredded meat with the remaining banana peppers.
10
Layer the cheese on top of the meat, then place the top of the rolls on top of the cheese.
11
Melt the remaining butter in the microwave and brush it over the top of the rolls. Season with Italian Seasoning and garlic powder.
12
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
13
Reserve some of the cooking juice in the slow cooker for dipping, if desired.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Sear the Chuck Roast First 🔥Brown the chuck roast in a hot skillet with butter before adding to the crockpot to develop a rich, caramelized crust that deepens the overall flavor of the jus.
- Reserve and Reduce the Jus 🍲After cooking, strain the leftover liquid and simmer it on the stovetop for 10-15 minutes to concentrate flavors and create a luxurious dipping sauce that coats the beef perfectly.
- Toast the Rolls for Texture 🥐Butter and toast your rolls in a 375°F oven for 3-4 minutes just before serving to create a crispy exterior that contrasts beautifully with the tender, juicy beef without becoming soggy.
- Layer Banana Peppers Strategically 🌶️Add banana peppers in the last 30 minutes of cooking to maintain their bright, tangy crunch while allowing them to absorb some of the Italian seasoning without becoming mushy.
- Use Low Heat for Extended Cooking 🕐Cook on low for 8 hours rather than high for 4 hours to allow the chuck roast to break down slowly and develop incredibly tender, shred-able meat that absorbs the garlic and Italian seasoning throughout.
