Tips & Tricks (5)
- Ice Bath for Perfect Eggs 🥚Immediately transfer boiled eggs to an ice bath for 5 minutes to stop the cooking process and prevent that gray-green ring around the yolk, ensuring creamy, vibrant egg halves.
- Salt Your Pasta Water Generously 🧂Make your pasta water taste like the sea before cooking—this is your only opportunity to season the pasta itself, creating a flavorful foundation for the entire salad.
- Chill Everything Before Mixing 🧊Cool the cooked pasta, hard-boiled eggs, and mayonnaise-based dressing separately before combining to prevent the mayonnaise from breaking and ensure the salad stays creamy and fresh.
- Fold in Delicate Ingredients Last 🥄Add the egg halves and tender vegetables (celery, red onion) in the final moments of mixing and fold gently to prevent them from becoming mushy or breaking apart.
- Adjust Seasoning with Paprika Technique 🌶️Reserve some paprika and fresh black pepper to dust over the top just before serving—this creates visual appeal and delivers a flavor punch without overmixing the dressing.
