Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Your Cocoa Powder 🔥Lightly toast the unsweetened cocoa powder in a dry skillet over low heat for 1-2 minutes before layering to intensify its chocolate flavor and eliminate any bitter notes.
- Temper Your Chocolate Chips 🍫Finely chop and slightly warm your chocolate chips before adding to the jar so they distribute evenly and won't settle into one clump at the bottom during storage.
- Layer Strategy Matters 📦Alternate dry ingredients (sugar, cocoa, chips) in distinct visible layers rather than mixing—this creates an attractive presentation and helps recipients appreciate the quality ingredients inside.
- Cinnamon Stick Placement 🎋Position the cinnamon stick vertically along the inside of the jar before filling to keep it visible as a beautiful garnish and make it easy for recipients to use when brewing.
- Include Brewing Instructions 📋Attach a tag specifying to shake the jar well before use and add 8-10 oz of hot milk or water—this prevents recipients from making it too thin and ensures they experience your intended flavor balance.
