Tips & Tricks (5)
- Brown Butter for Depth 🧈Melt your butter and let it brown for 2-3 minutes before creaming with sugars to add a rich, nutty complexity that elevates the entire bar's flavor profile.
- Chill Dough Before Baking 🧊Refrigerate your dough for at least 30 minutes before spreading into the pan to prevent excessive spreading and ensure thicker, chewier bars with better texture.
- Toast Your Chocolate Chips ✨Lightly toast chocolate chips in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes before adding to enhance their flavor and prevent them from sinking to the bottom during baking.
- Add Sprinkles Strategically 🎨Reserve half your sprinkles and candies to press onto the surface after spreading dough but before baking, ensuring vibrant color and even distribution that won't bake off.
- Underbake Slightly for Chewiness 🍫Remove bars when the edges are set but the center still jiggles slightly—they'll continue cooking as they cool, resulting in perfectly soft and chewy bars rather than dry ones.
