3
|
In a standing mixer or in a separate large bowl beat the butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla for 3-5 minutes or until creamy and light in color.

5
|
Fold or beat in 1 1/4 cup of the chocolate candies and 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Brown Butter for Depth 🧈
Melt your butter and let it brown for 2-3 minutes before creaming with sugars to add a rich, nutty complexity that elevates the entire bar's flavor profile.
  • Chill Dough Before Baking 🧊
Refrigerate your dough for at least 30 minutes before spreading into the pan to prevent excessive spreading and ensure thicker, chewier bars with better texture.
  • Toast Your Chocolate Chips ✨
Lightly toast chocolate chips in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes before adding to enhance their flavor and prevent them from sinking to the bottom during baking.
  • Add Sprinkles Strategically 🎨
Reserve half your sprinkles and candies to press onto the surface after spreading dough but before baking, ensuring vibrant color and even distribution that won't bake off.
  • Underbake Slightly for Chewiness 🍫
Remove bars when the edges are set but the center still jiggles slightly—they'll continue cooking as they cool, resulting in perfectly soft and chewy bars rather than dry ones.
