In a bowl, mix warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add flour and salt and knead for about 8–10 minutes until you get a smooth, soft dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
    2
    |
Cook the chicken breast in salted water until fully done. Remove, let cool slightly, then shred (pull apart) with two forks.
    3
    |
In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, chopped chipotle and honey. Mix well until everything is evenly coated and sticky.
    4
    |
Once the dough has risen, divide it into 6 equal pieces. Flatten each piece slightly, add a generous spoon of the honey chipotle chicken filling and the shredded cheese in the center, then close and roll into a ball.

    |
Grease a round baking dish. Place 1 ball in the center and arrange the other 5 around it, like a flower or star shape.
    6
    |
Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
    7
    |
Bake at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
    8
    |
Mix melted butter with adobo sauce and chopped herbs.
    9
    |
As soon as the bread comes out of the oven, brush generously with the chipotle butter.
    10
    |
Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for about 30 minutes, this keeps the top soft and fluffy.

    Tips & Tricks (5)

    • Master Your Dough Temperature 🌡️
Keep your warm water and milk between 110-115°F (43-46°C) to activate yeast properly without killing it; use a thermometer for precision and consistent rise times every time.
    • Shred Chicken While Warm 🔥
Pull apart your chicken breast immediately after cooking while it's still steaming hot—it shreds effortlessly into perfect strands that absorb the honey chipotle sauce much better than cooled chicken.
    • Balance Your Chipotle Heat 🌶️
Taste your filling mixture before assembling and adjust heat by adding honey to temper spiciness or more adobo sauce for intensity; this prevents an overpowering or underwhelming final dish.
    • Perfect Proofing in Tight Quarters 🍞
After filling and assembling your pull-apart bread in the baking dish, place it in a warm spot (like a turned-off oven with the light on) to achieve ideal rise without the bread drying out on the surface.
    • Infuse Butter While Still Hot ✨
Brush the chipotle butter topping onto the bread immediately after it comes out of the oven when it's still steaming; the heat allows the butter to meld into the crust while the flavors penetrate deeper.
