Tips & Tricks (5)
- Steep Tea at Optimal Temperature ☕Use water heated to 200-212°F in the Instant Pot and steep Earl Grey for exactly 4-5 minutes to extract rich flavor without creating bitterness that over-steeping causes.
- Cook Boba Separately for Perfect Texture 🫧Cook tapioca pearls in the Instant Pot using a separate pot-in-pot method (8 minutes high pressure) to achieve chewy centers without contaminating your tea or overcooking the pearls.
- Brown Sugar Dissolves Better When Heated 🍯Add brown sugar to the hot tea immediately after brewing while the liquid is still steaming, ensuring complete dissolution and even sweetness distribution throughout your drink.
- Chill Tea Properly Before Serving 🧊Cool the brewed tea to room temperature first, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before adding milk and ice to prevent the milk from curdling or creating an unpleasant separation.
- Add Milk Last for Creamiest Results 🥛Pour chilled tea into your glass first, add ice and boba, then gently pour cold milk last to create beautiful layering and prevent the creamy texture from breaking down too quickly.
