Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Bloom Your Gochujang 🌶️
Toast the gochujang in oil for 1-2 minutes before adding liquids to deepen its flavor and eliminate any raw paste taste for a more complex heat profile.
  • Cook Noodles Al Dente 🍜
Remove ramen noodles one minute before package instructions suggest, as they'll continue cooking in the hot broth and maintain perfect texture rather than becoming mushy.
  • Build Your Umami Base 🧄
Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant before adding other ingredients, then bloom them with soy sauce to create a deeply savory foundation that enhances the entire dish.
  • Balance Sweet and Spicy ⚖️
Add sugar gradually while tasting—it should just balance the heat without making the dish sweet; start with 1 teaspoon and adjust upward for your heat preference.
  • Finish with Sesame Oil Drizzle 🫒
Drizzle sesame oil in the last 30 seconds of cooking for maximum aroma and nutty flavor, as high heat will cause it to lose its delicate characteristics if added too early.
