Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Brine Your Chicken 🧂Salt the chicken cubes 30-40 minutes before cooking to break down proteins and ensure juicy, flavorful results that won't dry out during searing.
- Bloom Garlic in Oil First 🧄Toast minced fresh garlic in olive oil for 30 seconds before adding chicken to release aromatic compounds and prevent burnt, bitter flavors.
- Reserve Lemon Zest for Finishing ✨Add fresh lemon zest in the final 30 seconds of cooking to preserve its bright, volatile oils and prevent them from cooking away into bitterness.
- Cook Rice in Chicken Broth + Butter 🍚Use a 1:1.5 ratio of jasmine rice to chicken broth and add a tablespoon of butter for richer flavor and fluffier grains that won't clump with cheese.
- Fold Cheese Off Heat for Silky Texture 🧀Remove the rice from heat before stirring in sharp cheddar and broccoli to prevent the cheese from breaking down and creating a greasy, separated texture.
