Instructions
1
|
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F), top and bottom heat. Line or grease your baking pan.
2
|
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter together with the chocolate. Stir until smooth and fully combined. Let the mixture cool slightly.
3
|
In a separate bowl, whisk together the white sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until slightly lightened and smooth. Add vanilla extract and salt, then mix again briefly.
4
|
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while stirring gently. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder. Fold everything together just until combined, do not overmix. If using, fold in extra chocolate.
5
|
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 25–30 minutes. A toothpick should come out with moist crumbs (not raw batter).
6
|
While the brownies are still warm, gently press the red and pink M&M’s on top. The warmth helps them stick without melting too much.
7
|
Let cool before slicing for clean edges.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Don't Overbake for Fudgy Centers 🍫Remove brownies when a toothpick inserted in the center still has moist crumbs (not completely clean), as they continue cooking from residual heat and will set to perfect fudgy texture as they cool.
- Bloom Your Cocoa Powder ☕Whisk cocoa powder with a small amount of hot water or melted butter before adding to the batter to activate its flavor compounds and eliminate any bitter, dusty taste for richer chocolate depth.
- Add M&M's While Warm for Better Adhesion 🔴Press red and pink M&M's into the brownies within 2-3 minutes of removing from the oven while the surface is still warm and slightly soft, ensuring they set beautifully without sliding off.
- Use Room Temperature Eggs for Better Emulsion 🥚Let eggs sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before mixing—they incorporate more smoothly into the batter, creating a more cohesive texture and ensuring even distribution of cocoa and chocolate chips.
- Toast Your Chocolate Chips 🌟Lightly toast both the cocoa and chocolate chips in a dry pan for 1-2 minutes before mixing into the batter to intensify their chocolate flavor and add subtle complexity to your brownies.
