Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cut Vegetables Uniformly 🔪Dice all vegetables into similar-sized pieces (roughly ¾-inch cubes) to ensure even cooking and consistent caramelization throughout the roasting process.
- Pat Dry Before Roasting 💧Thoroughly dry your vegetables with paper towels after washing to remove excess moisture, allowing them to caramelize properly rather than steam.
- Add Maple Syrup Strategically ⏰Toss vegetables with maple syrup in the final 10-15 minutes of roasting to prevent burning while still achieving a glossy, candied exterior with deep caramelization.
- Use High Heat and Space Correctly 🍽️Roast at 425°F on a single layer with proper spacing between pieces; overcrowding causes steaming instead of roasting, resulting in less flavorful vegetables.
- Season in Layers 🧂Apply kosher salt at the beginning for flavor development and again after roasting to maintain a crispy, seasoned exterior that won't dissolve into the vegetables.
