Oven-Roasted Asparagus
This is the simplest and quickest way to prepare green asparagus: the spears are tossed with oil, fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then roasted in the oven for 12–15 minutes until tender yet still vibrant. You can easily customize the dish by adding cherry tomatoes and garlic for extra flavor, or turn it into a heartier variation by topping it with cheese such as Parmesan or feta.

Wash the asparagus and snap off or trim the woody ends. (Optional: wash the tomatoes; crush the garlic cloves with the flat side of a knife and peel.)

Place the asparagus spears on a baking sheet, drizzle with salt, pepper, oil, and the juice of half a lemon, and toss well with your hands to coat evenly. (Optional: add the tomatoes and the crushed garlic cloves.)
- Step 4
Roast the asparagus in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
