Instructions
1
Quarter the grapefruit and squeeze the juice over a measuring cup. Fill a cocktail shaker or screw-top jar with ice cubes (about 4 large or 6 to 8 smaller ones) and strain the grapefruit juice into the shaker, catching the pulp.
2
Halve the lime and squeeze the juice over the shaker using a lime press or by hand. Add the tequila and agave syrup, then tightly seal the shaker or jar and shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds.
3
Fill two glasses with ice cubes (3 to 5 each) and divide the Paloma cocktail between them. If using a screw-top jar, strain the cocktail through a sieve or hold back the ice cubes with the lid or a spoon. Garnish with a grapefruit or lime wedge, if desired.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Fresh Juice Over Bottled 🍊Always use freshly squeezed grapefruit and lime juice rather than bottled alternatives—the vibrant acidity and natural oils create a dramatically more refreshing and balanced cocktail.
- Chill Your Glassware 🧊Place your glass in the freezer for 5 minutes before serving to keep the Paloma perfectly cold longer and prevent dilution from melting ice.
- Agave Syrup Temperature Trick 🌡️Warm agave syrup slightly before mixing so it dissolves smoothly into the cold ingredients without creating sticky clumps at the bottom of your drink.
- Salt Rim Enhancement 🧂Use a combination of sea salt and dried grapefruit zest on the rim to complement the drink's citrus profile and add an elegant, sophisticated touch.
- Ice Quality Matters ❄️Use large, crystal-clear ice cubes or one large block instead of small cubes—they melt slower and prevent over-dilution of your premium tequila and fresh juices.
