Tips & Tricks (5)
- Moisture Management with Zucchini 💧Salt and squeeze your shredded zucchini in a clean kitchen towel 15 minutes before mixing to remove excess moisture, preventing a soggy cake and ensuring the perfect tender crumb.
- Spice Bloom for Maximum Flavor 🌟Toast your pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon in a dry pan for 30 seconds before adding to the batter to deepen their warmth and complexity for a more sophisticated taste profile.
- Chocolate Chip Positioning Strategy 🍫Reserve half your chocolate chips and sprinkle them on top of the batter after pouring into the pan so they stay visible and melty on the surface rather than sinking to the bottom.
- The Toothpick Test Timing ✓Check doneness at 28-30 minutes with a toothpick in the center—it should have moist crumbs, not come out clean, since zucchini bread continues cooking as it cools and you want it tender, not dry.
- Cooling and Cutting Precision ✂️Let the squares cool completely in the pan (at least 2 hours) before cutting with a hot, wet knife wiped clean between cuts to achieve clean edges and prevent crumbling.
