Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cut Uniform Sizes for Even Cooking 🔪Cut sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes to ensure they roast evenly; smaller pieces crisp up faster while larger pieces stay tender inside.
- Dry Your Potatoes Thoroughly 💧Pat roasted sweet potatoes completely dry with paper towels before tossing with oil and seasonings to maximize crispiness and prevent steaming.
- Layer Your Maple-Spice Coating 🍯Toss potatoes with oil and salt first, roast for 15 minutes, then add maple syrup and cayenne mid-way to prevent burning while building complex caramelization.
- Toast Pecans Separately for Crunch 🥜Roast pecans separately for 5-7 minutes and add them as a garnish at the end to preserve their crunch and prevent them from becoming soft in the moisture.
- Finish with Lime Zest Last for Brightness 🍋Add lime zest and a squeeze of fresh lime juice immediately after plating to cut through the sweetness and heat, keeping the citrus flavor vibrant and fresh.
