Tips & Tricks (5)
- Chop Snickers Strategically 🍫Cut Snickers bars into varied chunk sizes (some large, some small) rather than uniform pieces to create pockets of caramel, nougat, and chocolate throughout the cookie for better flavor distribution.
- Brown Your Butter First 🧈Melt the butter and let it cook until golden brown (2-3 minutes), then cool completely before mixing—this adds a rich, nutty depth that complements the pecans and caramel beautifully.
- Toast the Pecans 🥜Lightly toast pecans in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes before adding to the dough to unlock their natural oils and intensify their crunch and flavor.
- Chill Dough Before Baking ❄️Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours) to prevent spreading and ensure chewy centers with crispy edges, while also allowing flavors to develop.
- Under-bake Slightly for Chewiness 🕐Remove cookies when the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly underdone—they'll continue cooking on the hot baking sheet and achieve the perfect chewy-crispy texture as they cool.
