Spiked Strawberry Lemonade (with Bourbon or Vodka!)
Pitcher Cocktail
Single Cocktail
Instructions
1
In a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries until no chunks are left. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if you don't like seedy drinks. I recommend straining to keep the drink from getting too thick.
2
Mix together the strawberry puree, lemon juice, simple syrup, club soda, and bourbon. Start with 1/2 c. simple syrup and 9 oz. of bourbon, and adjust these ingredients according to taste.
3
Serve the lemonade over ice. Garnish with lemons, strawberries, and fresh mint.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Macerate Strawberries for Peak Flavor 🍓Toss fresh strawberries with a tablespoon of sugar 30 minutes before making the lemonade to release their juices and intensify the natural sweetness without adding extra syrup.
- Make Simple Syrup with Strawberry Reduction 🔥Simmer your simple syrup with a few crushed strawberries before cooling to infuse deeper strawberry flavor that won't get diluted by the sparkling water.
- Fresh Lemon Juice Temperature Matters 🍋Use room-temperature freshly squeezed lemon juice rather than cold-stored juice, as it releases more oils and delivers brighter, more complex acidity in your cocktail.
- Add Spirits Last for Optimal Mixing 🥃Pour bourbon or vodka into the pitcher just before serving rather than all at once, allowing you to adjust strength to taste and prevent dilution from over-stirring.
- Freeze Strawberry-Mint Ice Cubes 🧊Make specialty ice cubes by freezing strawberry slices and fresh mint leaves inside, which slowly infuse flavor as they melt rather than watering down your drink with plain ice.
