Tips & Tricks (5)
- Macerate Fruit Overnight 🍇Soak your figs, blackberries, and black cherries in the simple syrup and brandy for 12-24 hours before adding wine to deepen flavors and create a more complex, boozy base.
- Chill Everything Beforehand ❄️Pre-chill your wine, glasses, and pitcher to 4 hours before serving—this prevents dilution from melting ice while keeping the drink properly cold and refreshing.
- Use Fresh Pomegranate Seeds 🌙Float fresh pomegranate arils on top just before serving for a striking visual effect and burst of tartness that the bottled juice alone cannot provide.
- Balance Spirit Ratios Carefully 🍾Taste after combining liqueurs and adjust orange liqueur-to-brandy ratio based on preference—orange liqueur adds sweetness while brandy provides depth, so balance determines the final character.
- Make Simple Syrup with Wine Reduction 🔴Replace plain simple syrup with a reduction of red wine, sugar, and whole cloves to infuse deeper spooky flavors that complement the sangria's dark fruit profile perfectly.
