Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Slice the baguette at a diagonal into 1/2-inch slices.

Line the baguette slices cut-side up on a sheet pan. It's ok if they touch a bit on the edges. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush both sides of the toasts with olive oil. Season with a few pinches of salt, to taste.

Bake the crostini for 8-12 minutes, until they're golden brown and toasty. Cool completely and enjoy!
Garlic Crostini

Place them back in the warm oven for about 1 more minute if you want to tone down the spiciness of the raw garlic a bit.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Slice Uniformly for Even Toasting 🔪Cut baguette slices to ¼-inch thickness using a serrated knife with a gentle sawing motion to ensure even browning and consistent crispiness throughout all pieces.
- Infuse Oil with Garlic Flavor 🧄Mince garlic finely and let it sit in olive oil for 5 minutes before brushing onto bread to allow the oils to extract maximum garlic essence without burning the delicate cloves.
- Arrange in Single Layer Spacing 📐Place crostini with slight gaps between each piece on your baking sheet to allow hot air to circulate underneath, preventing soggy bottoms and achieving uniform crispness.
- Toast at High Heat for Crunch 🔥Use 400°F or higher and watch carefully after the 10-minute mark, as crostini can rapidly transition from golden to burnt in just 1-2 minutes of extra baking.
- Cool Completely Before Storing ❄️Allow crostini to cool on the baking sheet for at least 10 minutes to firm up completely, then store in an airtight container to maintain crispiness for up to 3 days.
