Instructions

Place the crostini in a single-layer on a sheet pan. Top each crostini with 2-3 apple slices followed by 1 slice of brie.
2
|
Sprinkle each slice of brie with about 1/2 teaspoon of sugar – try your best not to sprinkle the sugar on the apples. Using a kitchen torch, brûlée the sugar until it's evenly caramelized and golden-brown.
3
|
Sprinkle the crostini with the pecans and fresh thyme. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Choose Firm Apples for Optimal Brûlée 🍎Use Honeycrisp or other firm varieties that won't collapse under the brûlée torch; slice them thin (¼-inch) so they caramelize evenly while maintaining their structure.
- Bring Brie to Room Temperature 🧀Remove brie from the fridge 10 minutes before assembly so it spreads smoothly onto warm crostini and melts perfectly when the sugar caramelizes.
- Master the Brûlée Technique ⚡Work quickly with your torch, moving constantly in small circular motions to create an even golden crust without burning the apples or brie underneath.
- Toast Pecans Separately for Extra Crunch 🌰Lightly toast pecans in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before adding them, which releases their oils and deepens flavor so they don't get soggy from the melted cheese.
- Add Fresh Thyme at the Very End 🌿Sprinkle thyme leaves only after brûléeing and plating to preserve their delicate aromatics and prevent them from browning or losing potency during the torching process.
