Instructions
1
If the chicken breasts are quite large, place in a zip top bag and pound to uniform thickness, or butterfly the chicken by cutting it in half lengthwise to make 2 pieces. Pat the chicken dry, then brush evenly with the oil.
2
Combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl and sprinkle evenly over the chicken.
3
Air fry the chicken breasts at 380 degrees in a single layer for 8 minutes, then flip and continue cooking until an instant read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast reaches 160 degrees, around 7-10 minutes more depending on the size and thickness. Brush the chicken with bbq sauce on both sides and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165 degrees.
4
Place the chicken on a plate, cover loosely with foil and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Brine Your Chicken 🧂Apply your salt and spice blend 15-30 minutes before air frying to allow the seasonings to penetrate the meat and enhance juiciness through osmosis.
- Pat Dry for Crispier Skin ✨Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the chicken surface before seasoning and cooking; this removes moisture that prevents browning and helps achieve a caramelized exterior.
- Add BBQ Sauce in Two Stages 🍖Apply half the BBQ sauce at the 15-minute mark, then add the remainder in the final 3-5 minutes to prevent burning while achieving a glossy, caramelized coating.
- Don't Overcrowd the Basket 🎯Arrange chicken pieces in a single layer with space between them for proper hot air circulation; crowding creates steaming instead of crisping.
- Rest Before Saucing 🌡️Let the chicken rest for 3-5 minutes after cooking before adding final BBQ sauce to allow juices to set and prevent the meat from drying out.
