Instructions
1
|
Allow the chicken drumsticks to come to room temperature to ensure that they cook evenly. Blot them dry with a paper towel, then brush lightly with the oil.
2
|
Season the drumsticks evenly to coat with the bbq chicken rub.
3
|
Place the chicken drumsticks in the air fryer in an even layer (it's ok if the bones overlap slightly), and cook at 375 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the leg registers 175 degrees. All air fryers vary, so check for doneness after 12 minutes. Smaller legs will take roughly 15 minutes and larger legs will take about 18 minutes. Allow the drumsticks to rest 5-10 minutes before serving and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Skin Crispiness Hack 🔥Pat chicken drumsticks completely dry with paper towels before applying oil and rub to ensure maximum skin crispiness in the air fryer.
- Oil Distribution Technique 🫒Use a silicone brush to evenly coat drumsticks with olive oil, ensuring every crevice gets covered for uniform browning and flavor.
- Spacing is Key 📏Leave at least a half-inch gap between drumsticks in the air fryer basket to allow hot air circulation and prevent steaming.
- Rub Mastery 🌶️Apply BBQ chicken rub generously and let it sit for 15-20 minutes before cooking to allow spices to penetrate the meat.
- Internal Temp Precision 🌡️Cook drumsticks until internal temperature reaches 165°F at the thickest part to guarantee food safety and perfect doneness.
