Instructions
1
Allow the chicken drumsticks to come to room temperature to ensure that they cook evenly. Blot them dry with a paper towel, then brush lightly with the oil.
2
Season the drumsticks evenly to coat with the bbq chicken rub.
3
Place the chicken drumsticks in the air fryer in an even layer (it's ok if the bones overlap slightly), and cook at 375 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the leg registers 175 degrees. All air fryers vary, so check for doneness after 12 minutes. Smaller legs will take roughly 15 minutes and larger legs will take about 18 minutes. Allow the drumsticks to rest 5-10 minutes before serving and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Dry for Maximum Crispiness 🥶Pat the chicken drumsticks completely dry with paper towels before applying the BBQ rub; this removes surface moisture that prevents the air fryer from achieving that coveted crispy skin.
- Oil Distribution Technique 🫒Lightly toss drumsticks with olive oil before applying the dry rub to ensure even coating and better browning; avoid over-oiling which can create greasy results in the air fryer.
- Arrange in Single Layer 📍Place drumsticks in a single layer with space between each piece to allow hot air to circulate properly, ensuring crispy exteriors and juicy interiors throughout.
- Strategic Flipping at Midpoint ⏱️Flip drumsticks halfway through cooking (around 15 minutes) to ensure even browning on all sides and prevent any undercooked spots on the bottom.
- Internal Temperature Check 🌡️Use a meat thermometer to verify doneness at 165°F in the thickest part near the bone, guaranteeing food safety while maintaining juicy meat beneath the crispy rub.
