Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Chickpeas Thoroughly 💧Pat canned chickpeas completely dry with paper towels before seasoning to remove excess moisture, which ensures maximum crispiness and prevents them from steaming in the air fryer.
- Toast Spices Before Mixing 🌶️Briefly warm your dried spices (cumin, coriander, paprika) in a dry pan for 30 seconds before combining with oil to bloom their flavors and create a more complex, aromatic seasoning blend.
- Don't Overcrowd the Basket 🧺Spread chickpeas in a single layer with minimal overlap to ensure even air circulation and consistent crispiness; work in batches if necessary rather than compromising texture.
- Shake Mid-Way Through 🎯Pause at the halfway point (around 8-10 minutes) to shake the basket gently, ensuring all chickpeas crisp evenly on all sides for uniformly crunchy results.
- Season Immediately After Frying 🧂While still hot from the air fryer, toss chickpeas with a finishing sprinkle of fine sea salt so it adheres better to the exterior and enhances overall flavor perception.
