Instructions
1
In a mixing bowl, add the sugar, yeast and water. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes. Frothy bubbles should form.
2
Add flour and salt and stir lightly for 1 minute. Then using your hands, lightly knead the dough. Roll the dough into itself and place in an oiled bowl. Cover with a damp towel and let dough rise for 1 hour.
3
Once dough is doubled in size cut into 8 even pieces. Form each dough into a ball by tucking in the edges of the cuts and rounding out on a flat surface.
4
Using your floured thumb and middle finger, create a hole in the center of the bagel and then lightly stretch the hole open about an inch.
5
Get a pot of water to boiling and the lower the heat to low. Bath each bagel in the hot water for 1-2 minutes on each side. The longer the bagel soaks, the chewier the result.
6
Season the bagels with 1 TBSP of the Everything Bagel seasoning.
7
Spray the air fryer basket with oil and place bagels in and cook on 350 for 8 minutes.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Master the Boiling Step 💧Briefly boil bagels in water with a pinch of sugar before air frying to achieve that signature chewy interior and set the crust properly—this step is crucial and shouldn't be skipped.
- Apply Seasoning While Damp 🌊Brush bagels lightly with water immediately before air frying so the everything bagel seasoning adheres evenly and creates a crispy, flavorful crust rather than sliding off.
- Preheat Your Air Fryer 🔥Always preheat your air fryer to 375°F for 3-5 minutes before cooking to ensure even browning and proper crust development on all sides of your bagels.
- Don't Overcrowd the Basket 📦Arrange bagels in a single layer with space between them to allow hot air circulation; cook in batches if needed for perfectly crispy results on all surfaces.
- Cool Before Slicing 🧊Let bagels rest for 2-3 minutes after air frying before slicing to set the crumb structure and prevent them from becoming gummy, ensuring that perfect bite texture.
