Tips & Tricks (5)
- Squeeze Out Excess Moisture 💧After shredding potatoes, wrap them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze firmly to remove excess moisture—this is the secret to achieving maximum crispiness in the air fryer.
- Soak for Superior Texture 🥔Soak shredded potatoes in cold water for 15-30 minutes, then drain and dry thoroughly to remove starch and prevent gumminess, resulting in perfectly crispy hash browns.
- Oil Distribution is Key 🍳Toss potatoes with oil evenly before air frying, ensuring every strand is lightly coated for consistent golden browning and preventing dry spots.
- Shake Halfway Through 🎯Stop the air fryer at the 10-minute mark to shake the basket vigorously—this redistributes the potatoes for even, uniform crispiness on all sides.
- Season Right Before Serving 🧂Add salt and pepper immediately after air frying rather than before to maintain crispiness and ensure the seasonings adhere to the hot potatoes perfectly.
