Instructions
1
|
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the carrots, honey, avocado oil, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt and red chili pepper flakes. Stir until the carrots are completely coated in the hot honey sauce mixture.
2
|
Spoon the coated carrots into the air fryer basket, leaving most of the leftover sauce in the bowl, and then save the bowl and sauce for later. Use the spoon or tongs to move the carrots into as much of a single layer as possible. Air fry the carrots at 380F for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through. The carrots are done cooking when they are fork-tender, appear slightly wrinkled and the edges are beginning to char.
3
|
Before serving, add the carrots back into the original mixing bowl with the remaining sauce and toss to coat with more hot honey mixture. Serve from this bowl or pour into a serving dish.
4
|
Serve immediately as a side with dinner, as a sweet snack, or on a salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cut Carrots Uniformly 🥕Slice carrots into similar-sized pieces (about ¼-inch thick) to ensure even cooking and consistent caramelization in the air fryer's circulating heat.
- Balance Your Hot Sauce 🌶️Taste your hot sauce before adding it to the glaze—milder sauces require less honey to balance, while spicier ones need more sweetness to achieve that perfect heat-and-sweet harmony.
- Pat Carrots Dry First 💧Dry your carrots thoroughly before tossing with oil and seasonings to maximize the glaze's adhesion and prevent steaming, ensuring a beautifully caramelized finish.
- Apply Glaze Mid-Cook 🍯Wait until the 5-minute mark to brush on the hot honey mixture—this prevents burning while allowing the glaze to caramelize perfectly in the final minutes for a sticky, glossy coating.
- Shake the Basket Halfway 🎯Give the air fryer basket a good shake at the midway point to promote even browning and prevent any carrots from sticking or cooking unevenly on one side.
