Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Moisture Extraction is Critical 💧
Salt your shredded zucchini and let it sit for 15 minutes, then squeeze out excess moisture with a clean kitchen towel—this prevents soggy fritters and ensures maximum crispiness in the air fryer.
  • Don't Skip the Binder Balance ⚖️
Use one egg per 2 cups of zucchini and add just enough flour to bind—too much flour creates dense, heavy fritters while too little causes them to fall apart during air frying.
  • Preheat and Oil Your Basket 🌬️
Preheat your air fryer for 3-5 minutes and lightly spray the basket with cooking oil to achieve that coveted golden-brown crust without sticking.
  • Season the Mixture Generously 🧄
Mix all dry seasonings directly into the batter rather than sprinkling on top—this ensures even flavor distribution throughout each fritter and prevents clumping of chili flakes.
  • Flip Halfway for Even Browning 🔄
At the 8-minute mark during a 15-minute cook time at 390°F, flip each fritter to ensure both sides develop an evenly crispy, golden exterior.
