Tips & Tricks (5)
- Salt and Drain Your Zucchini 🧂Shred your zucchini and salt it generously, then let it sit for 10-15 minutes before squeezing out excess moisture in a clean kitchen towel. This prevents soggy fritters and ensures a crispy exterior in the air fryer.
- Don't Overmix the Batter 🥄Mix your ingredients just until combined to avoid activating the gluten in the flour, which would make the fritters dense and tough rather than light and tender.
- Use Parchment or a Spray Basket 📄Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper or use cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup effortless while maintaining those crispy edges.
- Perfect the Flattening Technique 👊Press your fritter mixture into uniform, slightly flattened patties rather than thick balls—this increases surface area for crispiness and ensures even cooking throughout.
- Flip Halfway for Even Browning ⏱️Flip your fritters midway through the 12-15 minute cooking time at 400°F to achieve golden-brown, evenly crisped results on both sides.
