Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dice Apples Just Before Mixing 🍎Cut apples into small, uniform pieces immediately before folding them into the batter to prevent oxidation and ensure they stay moist throughout baking.
- Bloom Your Cinnamon in Butter 🤎Melt the butter and whisk in cinnamon before adding to dry ingredients; this releases the spice's essential oils and distributes flavor more evenly throughout the bread.
- Use Room Temperature Eggs 🥚Bring eggs to room temperature before mixing to ensure proper emulsification with the sugars and fats, resulting in a moister, more tender crumb structure.
- Don't Overmix the Batter 🥄Mix only until ingredients are just combined to avoid developing gluten, which creates a tough, dense texture instead of the desired soft and tender quick bread.
- Test with a Toothpick at 50 Minutes ⏱️Start checking doneness at the 50-minute mark since oven temperatures vary; the bread is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
