Ingredients
- 2 - baking apples
- nonstick cooking spray
- 2 cups - rolled oats
- 2 ¾ cups - whole milk
- 1 - large egg
- 2 tablespoons - butter
- ½ cup - light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons - maple syrup
- 1 tsp - vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons - cinnamon
- ½ tsp - nutmeg
- ¼ tsp - allspice
- ¼ tsp - clove
- 1 pinch - salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Core the apples and dice into 1/2 inch cubes. Set aside.
- Spray a 9-inch square baking dish liberally with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the oats, milk, egg, melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, spices, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir until well combined.
- Add the diced apples to the bowl and fold into the oat mixture.
- Pour the oatmeal mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake the oatmeal on middle rack of oven until edges are golden and the center is firm, 45-50 minutes.
- Check to see that oatmeal is done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
- Allow the oatmeal to cool for 5 minutes. Serve drizzled with maple syrup.
