Instructions

1
|
Preheat the oven to 350℉.
2
|
Using a sharp bread knife, cut the bread in diagonal in one-inch sections – making sure you don't go all the way through the bread.
3
|
Repeat this step going in the opposite diagonal direction so that you have cross hatches.
4
|
Place cheddar cheese in between the slices.
5
|
Sprinkle bacon crumbles on bread, making sure to get in between the slices.
6
|
Mix together butter and ranch dressing seasoning. Pour over bread.
7
|
Wrap the entire loaf of bread in foil and place on a baking sheet.
8
|
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
9
|
Unwrap. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Pre-Cook Bacon to Perfect Crispness 🥓
Cook bacon until it's just shy of completely crispy, then crumble it before adding to the bread. This prevents it from becoming overly hard during the oven bake while ensuring it stays structurally intact in each pull-apart pocket.
  • Compound Butter for Even Distribution 🧈
Mix softened butter with ranch seasoning 10 minutes before use to create a homogeneous compound butter, ensuring every crevice gets equal seasoning and moisture without dry spots.
  • Strategic Cheese Layering 🧀
Place shredded cheddar between bread layers rather than just on top—this creates molten pockets throughout and prevents the cheese from browning too quickly while the interior stays undercooked.
  • Tent with Foil to Control Browning 🎯
Cover the bread loosely with foil for the first 12-15 minutes of baking, then remove it to allow the top to turn golden brown. This prevents the crust from burning while the center heats through completely.
  • Slice Partially, Not Completely ✂️
Make cuts three-quarters of the way through the bread (not all the way to the bottom) so pieces pull apart easily without separating into individual slices, maintaining structural integrity for serving and eating.
