Instructions

1
|
Lay out the cream cheese so it can soften to room temperature.
2
|
Cook the bacon in the manner that you normally would, allow to cool, and chop into small pieces.
3
|
Wash and dry the green onions and thinly slice on an angle.
4
|
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
5
|
In a medium sized bowl, add in the cream cheese, mayo, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, gruyere cheese, bacon (reserve some for topping the dip), and combine thoroughly with a spoon.
6
|
Then pour into a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 35 minutes.
7
|
Remove from oven, top with additional bacon and the green onions and serve warm!

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Pre-Cook Your Bacon Crispy 🥓
Cook bacon until fully crisp before mixing into the dip to prevent sogginess and ensure it maintains its texture during baking rather than becoming chewy.
  • Temper Your Cream Cheese First 🧈
Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before mixing to ensure smooth, lump-free consistency and easier blending with other ingredients.
  • Layer Your Cheeses Strategically 🧀
Use Gruyere for deep flavor and Mozzarella for stretch and melt; mix them together rather than layering to achieve even melting and consistent creaminess throughout.
  • Watch for the Perfect Bake 👀
Bake at 350°F until the edges are bubbly and golden (about 20-25 minutes) but the center still jiggles slightly—this ensures creamy texture rather than a dry, overcooked dip.
  • Reserve Green Onions for Garnish 🌱
Save half your green onions to sprinkle on top just before serving to maintain their fresh, bright flavor instead of cooking them down and losing their distinctive taste.
