Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Dry for Crispy Skin 🍗Pat chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels before seasoning—moisture is the enemy of crispy skin, so remove all surface liquid for maximum crispness.
- Season Generously and Early 🧂Apply your sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper at least 30 minutes before baking to allow the seasonings to penetrate the meat and enhance flavor throughout.
- Use High Heat for Skin Rendering 🔥Bake at 425-450°F on a preheated baking sheet to render the fat and crisp the skin in 25-30 minutes, then finish at a lower temperature if needed for even cooking.
- Arrange Skin-Side Up Always 👆Position thighs skin-side up on the rack so heat circulates underneath and the skin gets direct oven heat for optimal crispiness without flipping.
- Check Internal Temperature 🌡️Use a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh (avoiding bone) and cook until it reaches 165°F for perfectly juicy, safe-to-eat chicken every time.
