Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Dry for Maximum Crispness 🌊Thoroughly pat sweet potatoes dry with paper towels after cutting to remove excess moisture, which prevents steaming and ensures crispy edges during baking.
- Uniform Sizing Equals Even Cooking ✂️Cut all fries to the same thickness (about ¼ inch) so they cook uniformly; inconsistent sizes result in some burning while others remain soft.
- Toss with Oil Before Seasoning 🫒Coat fries lightly with canola oil first, then add all-purpose seasoning; this helps seasonings adhere properly and promotes even browning and crispness.
- Use Parchment Paper for Easy Cleanup 📄Line your baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and reduce cleanup while allowing air circulation for crispier fries on all sides.
- Flip Halfway Through for Golden Crispness 🔄Flip fries halfway through baking at the 15-minute mark to ensure both sides brown evenly and achieve that restaurant-quality golden exterior.
