Tips & Tricks (5)
- Uniform Thickness Matters ✂️Cut sweet potatoes into evenly-sized fries (about ¼-inch thick) to ensure consistent cooking and crispiness throughout.
- Dry Before Seasoning 💧Pat cut sweet potatoes completely dry with paper towels after soaking to remove excess moisture, which prevents steaming and promotes crispiness.
- Oil Coating Technique 🫒Toss fries in a measured amount of canola oil (about 2 tablespoons per pound) and season evenly before baking to maximize flavor distribution and prevent clumping.
- Flip Halfway Through 🔄Turn fries halfway through baking (around 15 minutes) to ensure even browning and crispiness on all sides without burning the edges.
- Preheat the Baking Sheet 🔥Place your baking sheet in a 425°F oven for 5 minutes before adding fries, which creates immediate contact heat for superior crispiness on the bottom.
