Tips & Tricks (5)
- Banana Ripeness is Critical 🍌Use bananas with brown spots and soft texture for maximum sweetness and moisture; overripe bananas add natural sugar and reduce the need for extra sweetener.
- Room Temperature Ingredients Ensure Even Mixing 🌡️Bring eggs, butter, and milk to room temperature before combining to create a smooth, emulsified batter that incorporates air properly for a tender crumb.
- Balance Your Peanut Butter Frosting Consistency 🥜Add milk gradually to your frosting to achieve the perfect spreading consistency; too thick won't spread smoothly, too thin will slide off the cake.
- Don't Overmix the Batter ✋Fold dry ingredients gently into wet ingredients until just combined to prevent gluten development, which creates a dense, tough cake instead of the tender texture you want.
- Chill the Frosted Cake Before Serving 🧊Refrigerate the frosted cake for at least 30 minutes before cutting to allow the frosting to set, resulting in clean slices and better presentation.
